We are thrilled to announce that the team behind Mezen Volos and Mezen Salonica is gearing up to open a new establishment! The preparations for the new store are progressing rapidly, and it will soon open its doors.
The restaurant is located at 8 Skra Street, in Agia Sofia, Thessaloniki, and it will offer a unique twist: a "fish butcher shop". Remember the traditional chasapotaverna? Well, this concept will capture the essence of a chasapotaverna, but instead of meat, fish will take center stage. Additionally, it will house a delicatessen, making it a perfect spot for food enthusiasts. The name they have chosen for it is "Psi By Mezen"
There you will have the opportunity to purchase a variety of sea-cured meats (seacuterie) from the master of this craft, chef Grigoris Helmis, either for home or to enjoy on-site at their cozy tavern. You can pair them with various spirits or wines, carefully selected by Andreas Diakodimitris. Moreover, you will also be able to buy wines and spirits for your home. I’m looking forward to their opening; ultimately, Psi should be spelled with an upsilon, as the gentle enjoyment of tsipouro, accompanied by the right meze, is considered a special kind of experience!
